Who do I call to get policy information?
Please call us at (336)238-1053 and you will be directed to the Account Manager who has been assigned to you. They will professionally address any questions or issues that you have concerns about.

How do I file a claim?
Please give us a call at (336)238-1053 as soon as possible and we will file the claim for you. Most policies also carry a toll-free number within the policy that insureds can call for help with a claim so you may also click File a Claim on the side menu. This is a stressful time for you so we will assist you in any way that we can.

Can I get a Certificate of Insurance?
These requests can be called in, faxed in to (336)238-1054, or e-mailed to us and we will get these out for you the same day they are requested. The Certificate of Insurance request form is linked on the home page. One exception would be if special conditions exist, such as Waivers of Subrogation, Specific Verbiage, etc. which sometimes requires underwriter approval. We will do everything in our power to get these out as quickly as possible and will keep you informed of our progress if there are issues.

How can I make a payment?
You can visit our office at 121 North Talbert Blvd., Lexington, NC or go to the "Make a Payment" tab under the main menu.

Where do I send my payment?
You are always welcome to make your payment here at our office or mail them into the company directly. Many companies will also allow you to set up payments by EFT which will draft the payments on a specified date from your checking account or you can call payments into them. If you prefer making payments online, many companies have a website where insureds can upload payments. We would be more than happy to assist you with any of these.

Can I get something showing my billing history that will tell me what I have paid?
Absolutely, just tell us which policy/policies you are inquiring about and we will take care of the rest.

Why is my premium so much higher this year than it was last year?
We review your policy every year to make sure that you are receiving the lowest premium. If there is a problem, we will research the issue for you including contacting the underwriter, billing, etc. We will get you an explanation for the premium increase and, if possible, get it lowered.

Is there a discount for having both my homeowners and automobile insurance with Younts Insurance?
Yes and No. Some of our companies offer multi-policy discounts, where others do not. If you qualify for one of our companies that do, it is really the better deal.

My child is getting their driver's license; If I add them will my premium go up?
Yes, a premium will go up as long as there is an inexperienced driver on the policy.

Why are premiums so high for young drivers?
They have been shown to have more accidents and claims. Insurance companies try their best to keep rates as competitive as possible to retain the business of their parents and the young drivers as they become more experienced. Therefore it is very important that we educate our children about driving safely and the effects of not being cautious has on their insurance coverage.

If my vehicle is parked in my garage is it covered as "contents"?
No, a vehicle must be covered with comprehensive in order to be covered for a peril such as fire or theft.

Should my jewelry and/or valuables be scheduled under my homeowners policy?
Yes. There is normally no deductible and it is a replacement cost policy.

I think my policy has cancelled, how do I get it reinstated?
Please give us a call as soon as you realize there may be a problem so we can assist you. We will contact the company for you and request reinstatement. We will do everything in our power to reinstate your policy so you won't have a lapse, but if we are unable to, most of the time we can rewrite a new policy for you.

My credit is not so great, can I still get a competitive quote?
Yes, we can offer you a competitive quote. Some of our markets do not take into account your credit score, where some do.

Will my Mortgage Company/lien holder know that I've changed insurance companies?
Yes, when the policy is issued, the company notifies the mortgage company or lien holder.

Does Younts Insurance write coverage in other states besides North Carolina?
Yes, though we write primarily in North Carolina, we also have our license in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Michigan.
