History

Lora Disher Younts, CIC, formed Younts Insurance Agency in March 1997.

After 15 years of working for various insurance agencies in positions ranging from customer service representative to commercial lines producer, Lora knew she was well-equipped to handle the challenges of running her own agency.

The agency was affiliated with the Virginia-Carolina Group for its first five years, operating under that name. In 2002, in order to operate on a more independent basis, the relationship was dissolved, and the agency began operating as Younts Insurance Agency Inc.

As part of this change, the agency became a member of the SIAA network (Strategic Independent Agents Alliance), a national organization of local and regional insurance agents serving the needs of more than 2 million customers. SIAA currently operates in 48 states and Canada and represents more than $2.4 billion in premium volume through a network of almost 1,100 independent agencies.
